Cooking into the New Year

For my New Year’s celebration, I worked…as a cook.  I played the part, a bit.  They didn’t need a real chef anyway.

Happy 2009.

What have I been doing with my time?

Friday, December 5th, 2008

These things here:

Web Management and Art Production.

I do all the maintanence, layout, updating, etc.  I didn’t build the site, I inherited it – there is space for improvement, I know.  The PDF design is cool.

Furniture Photos (as seen in in the previous/below post)

I did the documentary/PR images for this event this past weekend.  An interesting experience, and some $$$ was made.

Back to my reading.

“Up-ge-dated” is a real word…

Friday, November 28th, 2008

…in German.  It is the past participle of “update” which means just what is sounds like – to update.  Germanized, in the past, it becomes “upgedated” – the “ge” denotes past.  Cool, huh?

The world is for sale – look where rebellion gets you.  How many Che, Sid, and Dylan t-shirts are out there?  I have a Che – Rage Against the Machine – hells yeah.  Black Friday today – only 125 million (projected) Americans out shopping.  Down from 138 million last year.  That is over 33% of the country out in retail-land today.  Happy holidays!

I have been heavy, heavy, heavy in to the phi-lo-so-phizing.  Adorno & Horkheimer, Flusser, Zielinski.  Good, good stuff.  Photos are on the edge of everything (of course) – funding options are in the works.  Always looking for funding.  Did I mention I am now taking donations?  Tis true.  Check out the main page and click “GIVES” if you are rich.  Obama-style – 5s, 10s, and 20s – works too.  That or just give me a spiritual donation – we can tap the universe for its vibes.

I should write more on this thing – good place to blabber.  Though right now all my blabber is going in the blabber rain barrel of my thesis…it is interesting [<--these 3 here], to say three more words than the least.

A Blog About Busy

The Wedding Teepee in Smarso

We had the final wedding celebration this last weekend (not this weekend).  It was great!  Hanging out in the woods, a treasure hunt, Grandpa burning a bench, Grandma bouncing along to Hank Williams, the stars, lanterns flying in the sky – so, so nice.  AND, we (Nora, Daniel, Kristin, Enrico, and I) got to sleep in a teepee!  Nora and I slept here one night alone as well – very cool.

Other than that, have you noticed that I pretty much only write here about being busy with vague things going on in my immediate realm?

I will list some not-so-vague engagements:

  1. Attending classes at The Universitat der Kunste-Berlin with Siegfriend Zielinski, conducted in GERMAN.  He teaches at EGS as well which is where we made the association.  I weaseled my way in; no official attendence for me, but it is free and I have my own little room for studying.
  2. Bringing the Nietzsche Circle‘s (a philosophical scholarly online journal out of NYC) web design up to speed.  It still needs a lot of work.  If you want to submit a piece, let me know.
  3. Starting the design for a financial advisor’s website.
  4. Reading, reading, reading.  Current authors: Marshall McLuhan, Max Horkheimer, Theodor Adorno, Friedrich Nietzsche (always), among others.
  5. Teaching myself Illustrator and Flash.
  6. Eternally looking for work.  I have an interview this week as someone’s personal assistant.  I really should give up – I have enough crap to do without a job.
  7. Writing a thesis that has been languishing and starting a paper I would like to submit to a conference.
  8. Attending German class for 15 hours a week.
  9. Being a good house-husband.  Nora is the employed one at the moment so I do most of the cooking and cleaning.
  10. I added a DONATION BUTTON to my website if you want to support this cause (ME!!).  Trust me, things are about to explode – get in on the ground floor and invest!!!  Even Warren E. Buffet, the Omaha Oracle, says so.
  11. Nora and I are going somewhere soon, but that is currently a secret.  Give it a couple weeks.
  12. Trying not to lose my mind.

My life in the moment.  Back to it.
